After removing the Qt 1.31 packages with YaST I installed Qt v1.41. All seemed to go weel until I rebooted the machine.
Now there's an untold amount of sh*t that gets printed as soon as the x-server and a window manager load. The printing appears to be what I'd call "printer code." Mostly pages of the letter "F."
The first page starts out with: [quote] %!PS-Adobe-1.0 %Creator: Qt 1.41 %Title: Unknown %CreationDate: <whatever is appropriate for the time of printing> %Pages: 2 <that's a damn lie!!> %DocumentFonts: <font style stuff> %EndComments
% Standard Qt prolog [end quote] (and then it goes on for over 20 pages)
It's a hell of rush to get qps open and kill every sign of "lp" or anything else that resembles a print job, before it eats another half ream of perfectly good paper.....
Are you sure that the start of your x-server is responsible? This is Postscript code. something wants to print to your raw port. did you try to run up as far as level 2 and start X afterwards? or better, start to single user mode, and after that init 1, init 2 and see what happens. I'd start the scripts in /etc/sbin/init.d/rc?.d from hand to *realy* see when it happens. you might as well have a hanging job in one of your queues that gets restarted over and over again, or sort of "lpr xyz.ps" in one of your (boot)-scripts.
