Hello: I would like to install nvidia graphics driver manually by running nvidia-install script. This can be done only if x is not running. I tried to turn off x temporarily in a vt by "init 3" which had no any effect. I also tried to turn off x by: systemctl stop graphical.target systemctl isolate graphical.target systemctl stop xdm.service systemctl isolate xdm.service None of the above had any effect on x window, they even haven't restarted x. I also killed Xorg, but x haven't stayed off, it restarted automatically. How can I turn off x temporarily? This is openSUSE 12.2 with systemd.
