I upgraded tonight with 4.01. I have a 3Dfx Voodoo 3 3000 AGP and there is a perceptable increase in performance, however, even with the glx module loaded, the gl screen savers STILL don't run....setup works, but a "test" doesn't.

It won't solve the problem but I think this is a KDE2 problem. In Kde 1.1.2 I can test and run the GL screensavers. In KDE2 I can set up but not test or use the same screensavers. All I get is a black screen. Same thing happens in XFree 4.0.2.
You are not alone!
One reason why these screensavers don't work is they are not included in any of the RPMs. Do a search for kpipes.kss. I don't know why.
I just did that. I've got them and they still don't work. They are in kbase2-2.0.0-0 rpm.
$locate kpipes.kss /opt/kde/bin/kpipes.kss /opt/kde2/bin/kpipes.kss
Try running the /opt/kde2/bin/kpipes.kss from the command line and see if it complains about anything.
$rpm -qf /opt/kde2/bin/kpipes.kss kbase2-2.0.0-0
I didn't say they worked, just that they were there. Using command line it draws out an area to run then this message on the console I run it from: GL can not render with root visual There is package qt-extensions on the suse ftp site that says it's some kind of GL interface to QT. I don't have it installed. It says ya cant't install it with the qttext rpm. Just a guess??? -- Mark Hounschell markh@compro.net
