If it's from another repo, YaST and zypper see it as a "vendor change", which is disabled by default. Either you use "zypper dup" instead of "zypper up", or you use YaST -> Software Management -> View -> Repositories -> (the LO-Factory-repo) -> in the green bar near the top of the right window "Switch system packages to the versions in this repository", or you change /etc/zypp/zypp.conf to contain a line "solver.allowVendorChange = true".
Werner
I've tried "zypper up" and zypper dup", all "dup" wants to do is downgrade my version of opera.
And "zypper se -s -r <the LO-Factory-repo>" really shows version 4.2? Then there must be an unmet dependency, but I cannot guess which.
puzzled, Werner
me puzzled too here's an excerpt using that command
v | libreoffice-calc | package | 4.2.0.4-117.1
| x86_64 | LibreOffice
v | libreoffice-calc | package | 4.2.0.4-117.1
| i586 | LibreOffice
v | libreoffice-calc-extensions | package | 4.2.0.4-117.1
| x86_64 | LibreOffice
v | libreoffice-calc-extensions | package | 4.2.0.4-117.1
| i586 | LibreOffice
And "zypper in libreoffice-calc-4.2.0.4-117.1" does not work either? Did you lock your currenty version of LO in YaST? I've not tried to install any part by itself, i prefer the whole lot to be installed. How do you lock a version in Yast? I've not done locked it as far as i know, certainly not on purpose.
Here's what i get from "zypper up" - it seems to think there is something to install but it doesn;t do it and nor does "zypper dup" zypper up Loading repository data... Reading installed packages...

The most likely reason for the 20 packages that will not be install is because they are from a different repo. You can test this with: zypper in libreoffice or by using any of the 20 in the list. This will most likely result in a message back that there is an update available but from a different vendor (repo). -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
