Hi, after installation of openSUSE 11.3 to Dell Vostro 1220 http://www.smolts.org/show?uuid=pub_b5e8a9b3-2a44-4453-8207-40f1ccc582b9 I found that after I plug headphones to the notebook, I still hear sound from internal speaker, but not from the headphones. It happens in KDE as well as in GNOME. When I boot from Ubuntu LIVE CD it works as expected. It did not happen when I was upgrading on ThinkPad. I'm not sure which information would help to solve it... I have actual system, nothing special. Also the hardware is ordinary... Any idea how to solve it? Did anyone faced it? Best regards,
Hi, have you tried opening up the kmix mixer panel and turning up the sound for the headphones in kmix? I am not sure what application controls sound volumes and mixing in gnome, but there must be some similar program to do it.
Yes, I did :-) but there is no entry for headphones in KMix. Nothing similar. I tried to turn up everything there, but nothing helped.
The other thing you can do is to open yast and see if your sound card is configured. If not, you can configure your card and see if it picks up the headphones.
In YaST it it configured and basically, it works fine - only output does not go to headphones...
Best regards,
You should find an entry for the headphones in alsamixergui. Have you looked there? BC -- If apathy is increasing where does it come from? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
