so amarok exists in "Main Repository" as Per suggested.
why do you have "Factory" repositories? they are not Leap 15.1 and are mostly/usually not compatible. they are not Leap 15.1 just as Tumbleweed and Leap 14 and debian are not. you cause yourself much problems by not following procedure.
your "installed" amarok package is not intended for Leap 15.1 and is not from git and/or KDE:Extra as you described. it is from "Factory".
openSUSE:Factory /= Leap 15.1 openSUSE:Factory /= Tumbleweed openSUSE:Factory /= git
It appears that factory came in with the Tumbleweed version. I have had both git and Tumbleweed installed, at one time or other, trying to find the appropriate version. I would *REALLY* like to know where to find it, as no matter what I do, I wind up with the wrong version.
Again, this is on a fresh install of 15.1 and I have not manually added repos. If one's in the list, it's because something I installed added it.
guessing, but you have probably installed and gained the repos by using the "one-click-install" that others dislike and paid no attention the the instructions the "one-click-install" provides, one of which is to add the repo, or not. so, yes, it is something you *decided* to have installed, ie: was manually installed. you made that choice, either by not reading or ignoring. you need to remove the repos which do not match your openSUSE version and probably KDE:Extra since you *apparently* should not be using bleeding-edge versions. uninstall amarok. then search for amarok and install the version meant for your Leap 15.1. yast should be sufficient for your purposes. I prefer zypper for software management. following instructions and being precise are *necessary*. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
