Which totally wrong source of information made you think that this weak printer is supported out of the box? For general information see the printing chapter in our "administration manual": file:///usr/share/doc/manual/suselinux-adminguide_en/html/cha.p.html or see our support database: http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2000/08/jsmeix_print-kompatibel.html For the particular model see http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-LaserJet_1020 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Works with a modified version of the "foo2zjs" driver. ... The firmware of the printer must be uploaded after turning it on. --------------------------------------------------------------------- You need the modified version of the foo2zjs driver (the normal foo2zjs is included in Suse Linux 9.3 but not the modified version). You need the firmware of the printer (which cannot be included in our producs because we don't have permission to re-distribute it). You need to complile and install the modified version of the foo2zjs driver and get a matching PPD to set up a queue. You need to set up the firmware upload stuff.
