Is it possible to make an alternate dial number to my ISP that runs automatically when the default one failed (for some reasons). I have to 'load an alternate configuration profile' in yast1 (which it must be root).
Unfortunately this isn't automatic, but at least it should be quicker than what you're currently doing. This problem does sound familiar, and I'm sure I know a solution, but I have no idea what it is just now (useful...). I'll have another think, but this should be alright for just now.
have a look into diald. it can establish a connection upon demand (or when told) and it can use a pool of methods to establish one. martin [greetings from the heart of the sun]# echo madduck@!#:1:s@\@@@.net -- the only real advantage to punk music is that nobody can whistle it.
