When it works, the above is little more than an annoying waste of clicks. The problem is I am occasionally left with an inaccessable calendar.
But as long as you just click on the clock in the task bar it behaves as before. One click to open, one click to close. Nothing wasted.
No that is not what's happening. It now takes two clicks to get to the calendar, because that rectangle with "Calendar" on it appears first. However, that's the case when it works. At the moment, I can't even do that as clicking on the clock produces a small square and I never get to see the calendar. Clicking on the square does nothing and repeated clicks on the clock simply open and close the square.
On my system, once the calender is collapsed with the "14" button, clicking on the task bar clock just opens and closes the small rectangular calendar box. Try double-clicking on the box to see if it opens to the full calender. If it does, just don't hit the "14" box again. At least this is the way it works on this end.
