Hi, Newbie did a silly thing: I wanted to look into an html document, and so opened it with KWrite. Somehow I associated .html files with KWrite, which in turn means that while browsing with Konqueror I can not longer click to open .html files; in fact Konqueror gave me a message about incorrect file type association. However, I could then right click and request Open with KHTML this worked, but a drag. it open the file within a Konqueror window; but how is that possible when Konqueror stated that it didn't associate with this file type? Anyway, I opened Konqueroe and opened Settings | Associations and attempted to associate html with KHTML. Now Konqueror says KDEInit cannot locate KHTML. Ha, ha, ha! Now I'm in trouble, and I am afraid that my past M$ experience is of zero help. :-)
Basically I guess that what I need to know is ho do I associate a file type with a program? Thanks for a suggestion. Colin

Thanks James. I associated html with KHTML but when I click on a file I get the message KDEInit launch KHTML, cannot find KHTML executeable Do you know where the executeable normally resides? And How do I tell Konqueror (or is it kde?) where to find it? Regards, Colin
