Has anyone had any success with installing recent GNOME releases (0.99x) onto SuSE 5.3? I'm still pretty new to Linux, and the docs I read make no sense. All advice greatly appreciated.
I have been doing it for months. My E, esd, gnome, is all CVS based. It's not too much of a bitch to compile, really, but if you want stability, you might want to go with the so-called 'stable' releases. CVS is extremely volatile and has a lot of flux. -M - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
