How much benefit was there to stickers in the SuSE box, when I'd already bought the product? Maybe if I had a kindergarten-aged child who would put the sticker on a book... or his forehead... :-) then somebody else might see it, but then the four-year-old would not be ready to explain what the sticker and logo meant, if asked by an actual adult with money to spend on software. So, lose the stickers, lose the lapel pins. Think of things that people will actually use, and keep in view for a while.
I paste them to my monitors, cpu cases, laptops, everywhere I have removed an M$ logo, or would like to see the SuSE logo. Anyone who has seen my office, my machines, my laptop, know that I use SuSE or find out when the see the sticker and ask, what is that? To which I reply, sit-down and take'er for a spin. They are always suprised how familiar it is to get around. Nice GUI, same kind of task bar thingie, and, most of the time, I just tell them to open firefox. People that have never used linux are able to see (and recognise) the firefox logo, start the app and browse the web. Then I tell them they just did it with Linux. All hand-me-downs I give away when I upgrade will have the sticker on them. Having lots of fun! Need more stickers! B-)
