I may be wrong but I don't believe the firewall settings should have any effect in this instance. The old router was also not working prior to swapping over. I got them to edit the existing connection rather than create a new one - the eth0 interface should remain the same from the firewall's point of view, regardless of what router or other device the connection is then passing through. The eth0 interface is itself configured in the External Zone.
