Interesting to know but not of any help in solving you preoblem. As I said,
How about telling us your configuration, whether you are using NetworkManager,
Yes, I am using NetworkManager.
your dhcp client settings
I followed the instruction as mentioned in the link - http://www.wikihow.com/Set-up-Mobile-Broadband-in-Ubuntu.
Regarding step - 10 , all are checked, except *MPPE* and *send PPP echo packets*.
and more. Please don't expect us to give meaningful advice (other than "Go Google", which it seems you already have) in an information vacuum.
I understand your point. But I am not well to understand such OS related stuffs well.
Try googling for diagnosing network problems linux As I said in another post: Have you tried pinging your router, your ISP, local sites in India, more disant sites? Unless we have some idea of your configuration, settings (again, go google or RTFM) we can't help you. There's a nice graphic and walk-though at http://www.tuxradar.com/content/diagnose-and-fix-network-problems-yourself#n... which is much more meaningful. Why don't you walk though that and try the example commands and report back to us where that gets you. This http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch04_:_Simpl... is much more comprehensive and will also teach you more about networking, but its a "don't start here" item. Again, more stuff here http://www.tecmint.com/linux-network-configuration-and-troubleshooting-comma... but it assumes you have some knowledge of the basics of networking. Its up to you to take the initiative to learn that. We can't solve any of your problems if you don't know what we're talking about and are unable to answer our questions. Work through the examples at that first URL, guided by the graphic, and tell us the results. That's a very significant start. -- /"\ \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML Mail / \ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
