Once again I am asking for help in trying to fix this issue that has been unresolved for a couple of years now.
never had such problem. May be hardware related? what is your wifi card?
At one hotel, I had the opposite problem. I could connect with Linux, but not Windows 7.
Hi, thanks for everyone's input. I have been traveling and unable to respond. I should be able to try out the suggestions in the next couple of weeks, and will post back. My card is a Realtek rtl8192se. I don't mean to sound the praises of Win7, I was only contrasting the two operating systems in hopes that it might jog something in analyzing the problem. The first night in the hotel, their router had problems and I could only connect with opensuse, but not for very long. I had to get their tech to sign me in, as the login page wouldn't display in either win7 or opensuse. Thanks again for the help, sooner or later I will find a solution.
