Hello, I can't install SuSE 6.3 in a new hard disk because I can't go further the very first step of the installation. My computer can't finish the Loading Data Into Ramdisk step :-( One year ago when I installed SuSE 5.3, the amount of data loaded into the ramdisk was 7870 Kb, now with SuSE 6.3 is 14260 Kb (if you begin the installation with CD 2) or 33540 Kb (with CD 1). So for some unknown reason my computer can load 7870 Kb into ramdisk but not the 14260 Kb we need now for SuSE 6.3. My computer is a Pentium 150 Mhz with 64 Mb of RAM and my surprise is even bigger when a friend hasn't had any problem with installation in a computer with the same micro and RAM as mine. I don't know if it makes sense that he has 64 Mb of RAM in two modules of 32 and I have mine in four modules of 16. I have also tried to install SuSE 6.3 from a directory, so I formated the new hard disk and copied the first CD with the order dd. The problem here is that I don't know the path to the image and the system always says: "Cannot find the image! Check the directory specification!" My new hard disk is hdd and I have made some trials with: /suse/imagesi386 /suse/images/pentium /disks/bootdisk No way :-( I don't know if I should carry my computer to the shop I bought it for the case they have to fix something with my setup parameters. Can anyone please kindly help me?
