couldnt you just create an ftp/nfs mirror then create a selection .sel and install via floppy and this selection from your network mirror? sounds lot more simple to me plus it makes sure you get all the packages you want. maybe one cd isn't enough. mk

Hello all,
I would like to know, where to find instructions on building a bootable install disk, containing a custom set of suse packages.
The install would have to be without any user intervention. We have a large testbed of computers used to teach people linux. Most, if not all participants, tend to mess up the system at least once. Instead of troubleshooting each machine, i would just like to insert the cdrom and install over it.
I just read the previous post about making such a ressource available on the intranet. Unfortuately, some of these computers do not have a network connection.
The machines all have mostly the same hardware, the subtle differences i can easily detect with lspci and grep.
My boss is giving me a free hand on this, and he would be *extremely* pleased, if this were to work. (he too is starting to feel sick about MS, but is not so easily convinced in linux beeing a good alterantive... im trying to prove him wrong... so please help)
best regards, Alex
btw, is there a squid howto available somewhere?
