Hello:
The "Ejecting a USB stick in kde4" topic made me asked this similar question but related to KDE3.
In my opinion there should be a difference between unmount and safely remove options in case of USB sticks. I don't know about KDE4, but in KDE3 unfortunately there isn't unmount option for USB desktop icons, only safely remove option. In case of unmount it should leave the icon on the desktop and enable mounting the device again. This option is missing in KDE3. This means that if I want to mount the USB stick again, I have to unplug and replug the device or else the icon won't be shown.
Does anybody know how I could add such an option (unmount) to the USB desktop icon?
I am using openSUSE 11.2 with KDE 3.5.10.
Thanks,
Istvan
There is an option somewhere (for device icons, but it is so long since I've used KDE3 that I've forgotten exactly where it is) that defaults to showing mounted devices only. You can change it to show unmounted devices as well as mounted devices (I'm pretty sure it was a checkbox and somewhere in KDE system settings/desktop settings or whatever it was called in KDE3). -- =================================================== Rodney Baker VK5ZTV rodney.baker@iinet.net.au =================================================== -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
