Hi,
I get a rather squished and small font in new xterms lately. I have not touched any config but it is unreadable. It seems to be bold too. Not sure because it is so small. =)
Is there a "xterm*font:" set in your ~/.Xdefaults?
How do I get a larger font in xterm? The man page is so long it seems like a weekend conference with the topic "Linux and the xterm". =)
For temporary changes you can select a font with the mouse (get a list with "xlsfonts"), then ctrl-rightbutton in the xterm to get the "VT Fonts" menu, then select "selection". The xterm should redraw itself with whatever font you picked. If you find a font you like, you can make it permanent by putting it in your ~/.Xdefaults file in a line like: xterm*font: -adobe-courier-bold-r-normal--14-140-75-75-m-90-iso8859-1 You might also occasionally find it useful to use the "-fn fontname" option on xterm to override the default if you're running it from a shell (menu). [If you so desire, you can change the other fonts in the "VT Fonts" menu by editing the XTerm file. The entries that start with "*VT100*font[1-5]:" are the ones you want to change. No, these have nothing to do with your default font, I just thought I'd mention them to confuse the issue. ;) ] -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
