By flawlessly I am assuming burning Dual Layer media? I have found all kinds of problems on drives when burning dual-layer media. They play back on some drives and not on others. The original d/l SUSE media seems to work on drives that don't playback what I burned. The main problem is that the media isn't recognized on some drives as bootable media although the original is, sigh.
It would be interesting to hear what media you avoid or don't like so that I can leverage off of that when buying D/L media?
NEC ND-3520A dual layer drive and Memorex DL DVD+R 2.4x 8.5GB blanks. Never had a problem with the archives being readable on any other type of DVD drive. Numerous copies of SUSE 9.3, 10.0 and 10.1 from boxed set DVDs for friends and relatives. Haven't had any problems with single layer DVD-/+R or DVD+RW made on this burner being readable/writable on other DVD drives either. I recommend http://www.cdfreaks.com for information on your drive and firmware updates. Could be that's all you need to get your drive working properly. Stan
