Segmentation Fault with Init

When my init process tries to change levels it generates segmentation faults. For example on booting to level 1, I get the following message on the console: INIT: Entering runlevel 1 Segmentation fault Master Resource Control: previous runlevel N, switching to runlevel 1 Is there any way to find out why it is generating a segmentation fault? There does not seem to be anything relevant in /var/log/messages --- Alastair
