The only time mine have done is when compiled for a faster processor than what one has. I would back down a processor or two till it works. Nadeem Hasan wrote:
Hi all,
I have been cooking my own kernels at home since 2.0.x days. Recently I upgraded to 6.4 which included gcc-2.95.2 as the default compiler. I compiled kernel 2.2.15 and upon booting it, it freezes after lilo has uncompressed it. I have tried recompiling many times with the same effect. I see the same effect with 2.2.14 too.
Has anyone compiled 2.2.15 on 6.4? Is it just me or there is something wrong? I have never faced problems with kernels except when I did it the first time.
Cheers,
Nadeem
