Hi Landy.
the most stable sylpheed is here
This is the version I have, and got by aid of CVS, but I have a fault running the ./autogen.sh:
configure.in:51: warning: AC_ARG_PROGRAM invoked multiple times configure.in:60: warning: AC_PROG_LEX invoked multiple times
The final of this is:
sylpheed 0.8.2claws11
image support : yes (gdk-pixbuf) GPGME : no JPilot : no LDAP : no OpenSSL : no compface : no libjconv : no IPv6 : no GNU/aspell : no
The binary will be installed in /usr/local/bin
Configure finished, type 'make' to build.
How do I get rid of that warning ?.

the warning is related to autoconf why don't you download the full tree and run ./configure
