-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well this is what I'm saying... the Suse version of Cups simply does not work with Alps printers. I posted this question on the Mandrake listserv and several members said they had the Alps MD series working with Mandrake|Cups. This is why I say there's a problem with Suse's Alps driver. I have raised this issue in various places for 10 months now. On Thursday, 10 January 2002 11:28, you wrote:

Have been hoping for the same thing. I have a MD1000 and need it for decal work. I was so happy to see Cups support for this in Suse 7.3.
Interesting; I wasn't aware of any Alps support.
For some reason Suse with Cups has a problem. If you happen to get it working please email me.
From what I've seen, CUPS has no problems that are SuSE-specific. The only problems I've seen yet are user misconfiguration issues.

Suse, please be advised that no Alps printer is reported to be working with Cups and Suse Ghostscript.
I've done without this printer for six months, all the while asking for help in GS listserv, Cups, Suse, etc.
There is a problem in the Suse Alps driver, as the same hardware works fine in Win2k.
Please free me from Winduhs, and fix this. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org
