The program gpm should allow me to use the mouse to copy and paste in a console session (ttyn to be clear, eg. tty2).
Actually given the meager explanation in the chapter I would not have any chance to make it work on a virtual console (tty2 e.g.). Now I am going to try to start it as a service and in case to follow the suggestion of Carlos for the mouse. Neat, thank you all!
gpm is a must have those few times graphics are dead; you have some command in a cheat file or notes and want to paste in another console - well, gpm allows that. It also gives mouse support in some of the few console programs that use the mouse. I just tried in this laptop with a touchpad. Handling is difficult (or I'm not used to it in the touchpad) but it works. The configuration is: cer@Legolas:~> egrep -v "^[[:space:]]*$|^#" /etc/sysconfig/mouse MOUSEDEVICE="/dev/input/mice" MOUSETYPE="imps2" GPM_PARAM="" GPM_REPEAT="" cer@Legolas:~> Try it. It is good to have it configured and ready for the day you need it. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from openSUSE 15.1 (Legolas))
