eSata in a laptop is yesterday's news already. I think you will have to buy a used laptop if you want it.
An eSATA socket on a desktop motherboard backpanel is yesterday's news too. Among DDR4 motherboards available from Newegg, prices start at $250 for an ASRock, $540 for anything better, and nothing in mATX. Even without the DDR4 restriction, mATX pickings are very slim, 9 total, all with Q87 or older chipsets. Luckily for those with an eSATA investment and enough unused onboard SATA ports, an eSATA connector or two can be added at nominal cost: http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7637 http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7638 -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
