If they're indeed trying to "back door" DRM you can bet your bottom dollar that someone will find a crack/workaround for this pronto. This is OSS so it wouldn't be long before this was sent to dev null if indeed it's M$ backstabbing and subversion Biz a usual tactics.
The upside to M$ trying this and then getting found out is that Linux/OSS would have solid proof of M$' trying to undermine or do the 3E on Linux and the Open Source community... And then well have one more piece of evidence that no matter what Bill and company say their is "absolutely" no way to trust them (as if this isn't already a given). The old addage "I know you're lying because your lips are moving" would be the byword of the day even more so.
