Hello,
I like to dial in from work on my PC. But I like to make sure that only *I* can dial in. The system is SuSE 8.0 and I have a ISDN Fritz Card. Can I allow only my number on the card dirctly, or is there an other way to block all but my number?
Dunno about that one, but you could set up a dial-back system:
You dial the box and log in The remote box hangs up and dials you back
How can I protect aginst a faked called ID ? I understand it's practically imposible to do this without the help of the teleco provider.
Thanks Dylan, I have protected my analog modem, which is also on the test box this way. AFAIK there is a smartet way for ISDN, there must be somewhere/how an option to allow only certian number.. This is what I am looking for. practially to protecet without the teleco prov. or practially impossible to fake the caller id (didn't tried it but this seems to be possible) Michael
