I feel your pain Fred. Time to get a cold one outta the fridge.
It's a REAL BUMMER when you get new hardware and need sound because MOST on board chipsets AREN'T supported nor are PCI cards. It's an area that is VERY much lacking in Linux. At this point, I have no idea what to do......I've a card, a discontinued card no less, which IS on the list in Yast, but from articles I've read, isn't supported and I certainly can't get it to work.
