looks like a missing dependency issue.
Or no-recommends result.
Either way, it doesn't work and I don't know how to fix it.
Be sure to check:
* Amarok -> Settings -> Configure Amarok -> Playback -> Configure Phonon
* installed codecs (gstreamer-plugins: bad & ugly) all from packman
Added packman repo, tried reinstalling Amarok and still doesn't work. Gstreamer is installed.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but it shouldn't be so hard to get a package working. I have been using Amarok for years and never that this problem.
Agreed. I'm using the VLC backend for Phonon here instead of Gstreamer, and it "just works". I don't know if that's relevant or not. You can check which backend is being used by KDE by default using "System Settings -> Multimedia -> Audio & Video -> Backend. If you can, try selecting the VLC backend and test. (If it is not installed, you might try installing the VLC backend as a test. You can have both installed and set the preference through the above screen). Not suggesting that will fix it necessarily, but it seems like a key point of difference. YMMV. BTW, I just realised that the method suggested by Carlos above takes you to exactly the same setup screen, so either way is valid. -- ============================================================== Rodney Baker VK5ZTV rodney.baker@iinet.net.au CCNA #CSCO12880208 ============================================================== -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
