Hi suse-linux-e,
I found the help documentation about installing this adsl modem under suse 8.1 and followed all the instructions but it hasn't worked. Has anyone else successfully configured this modem for adsl?
thanks
Andrew
If you follow exactly ( and nothing more) the instructions from SuSE
http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/configSpeedTouch.html
it works fine. No longer need for the Benoit Papillault modules. No files to modify.
Ready to help you.
Catimimi.
That is interesting Catimimi, I've try the instructions but couldn't get it to work. I made some modifications of my own and now it works fine. I did not do the part about Yast (as this did nothing useful). The few modifications I made were: edit the chap-secrets file, create an adsl file and a startup script including a shutdown of the usb module otherwise my system would hang (with flashing lights on the keyboard). Nothing that I did was original, I just edited existing files or create files from existing documentation. Eddie
I've been using this on 7.3 and on 8.1, using the Benoit Papillau drivers from sourceforge. I could never get the ones in the SuSE documentation to work either, the machine would always hang.
regards
Steve
