I have an IBM Thinkpad 600x with a Neomagic 2360 chip set. I've installed both SUSE 8.2 Pro and 9.0 Pro and, after installation, the system doesn't display correctly. Installation sees and shows the correct chip set. The SUSE site states it fully supports the chip set with both version of this distro. As soon as X starts (either automatically from init level 5 or after starting from init level 3 using startx) the screen starts to do a sort of "washout" starting with the upper right corner of the screen. It never displays any of the normal gui login screen. When I go to another terminal (ALT-F3, for example) when it returns, the screen does display some of the login screen background, but never the login panel, and it starts the washout effect again. Anyone have an answer for this? An updated driver for the chip? Thanks, Mark
