HMM. I run those commands and get the exact same output. But there is a problem. The FS my /var is on is actually Ext4 It seems that 'stat' doesn't know about ext4 or cannot differentiate.
It looks like you need to determine what device /var/lib/rpm is on then use something like 'lsblk'
