Hi,
My XF86 crashes about once a day since I upgraded to the 4.0.2 available on SuSE's download site. It has always happened when dragging a window quickly. X simply restarts and sends me back to the kdm login prompt. Am I the only person with this problem?
No, you're not the only one! I have the same kind of problem, thought not when dragging a window but sometimes, for unknown reason, the server restarts. I experienced this with a Rage 128 RF and a Voodoo3. I also > > can't use DPMS features of my monitor despite that xset says that X has DPMS capabilities (but that's an other story).

I just looked on SuSE's site to see if I could go back a version, and it looks as though the have removed 4.0.1. This is not good!
BTW: The last crash I had involved resizing a window and not dragging it. This alway happens with mouse actions on my system.
Steve I have had similar experience as you and therefore I have stayed with 3.3.6., why on earth bother about 4.* when you got 3.3.6 stable enough for your card? IMHO; SuSE 7.0 can't run XFree 4.* with an ATI Rage 128 card in a stable and secure way at all.
