I have always had linux on an extended partition, linux doesn't care. Sounds like once nt's os loader hands control over to LILO it hangs. I don't know if you have 5.1 or 5.2 so I can't tell you what page it's on, but the book that comes with SuSE linux does a nice job of explaining what's wrong with lilo depending on which letter it hangs on. You're getting an L, so I would proceed from there following the instructions in the SuSE handbook. Good luck. Braden N. McDaniel wrote:
Okay, I read the mini-howto on this, and I think I followed it to the letter. But when I pick "Linux" from the OS loader menu, I get an "L" in the upper left of my screen and that's that. I can boot to Linux from the floppy created during SuSE installation just fine. The only thing I can think of is that I installed Linux onto an extended partition, rather than a primary partition--should that make a difference?
