But I don't know if torrents are still available for the suse dvd :-?
The torrents are still available through the openSUSE site, but they failed the first time I used them. I did two ftp downloads, in less time then the one bit torrent (Left it running last night from a couple other places to, so I will recheck tonight).
I came home to find a couple of good downloads on my machine (1 via ftp and 1 via torrent), so to help eliminate the problem I have had, I have left the torrent going. Burned it, and installed (although haven't updated everything like dvd, etc). Won't be able to play much untill the weekend.
Another chap was having problems with the downloaded isos he had downloaded via ktorrent: he had weird problems when installing, and discovered he had bad checksums for must of the isos. I told him to use the text client instead, btdownloadcurses, placing the bad isos where btdownloadcurses would have placed them. Well, the program checked the files, and it downloaded only the bad chunks: in a short time, all iso files were good, and checksums were ok. The bittorrent protocol can be slower than a good ftp server, but it has built in reliability features inside. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFEj0+PtTMYHG2NR9URApbfAJ0bawT9HG9hsYXUdqzGW5+1YuJd7gCfayY7 B7FHz5vH+ZgGjqvZvCJoxpQ= =lZKe -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
