Hello:
I have openSUSE 11.2 with KDE 3.5.10. I had official openSUSE OpenOffice_org package(s) 3.1.1.4 which I wanted to update to 3.2.1.4 version from the openSUSE build repository: http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.2/
The update went smooth except from one thing: OpenOffice_org-kde-3.2.1.4-1.1 insisted to install libkde4, libkdecore4 and a few other packages as dependencies, so I installed them.
Now openoffice's open and save dialogs do not appear at all. I think the reason can be that I don't have any other KDE4 packages except from the abovementioned.
At the same time there is another kde related package in that repo: OpenOffice_org-kde4-3.2.1.4-1.1.
Why the OpenOffice_org-kde-3.2.1.4-1.1 package require then the installation of KDE4 libraries? And what is the purpose of the OpenOffice_org-kde4-3.2.1.4-1.1 package?
Finally, how could I install this OpenOffice version to work with KDE 3.5?
Thanks in advance,
The OpenOffice_org-kde4 package is the KDE4 integration. You're using KDE3... so do not need to install that package,,, it's not for your desktop anyway, so I'd say you shouldnt' install it at all... maybe the KDE3 guys have built the KDE3 integration package? Anyway either way it's not a critical thing... you don't actually need that package to use OOo Try this... in OOo, go to Tools > Options > General and put a check in the box next to "Use OpenOffice.org dialogs" and see if your save dialogs reappear.
