AFAIK, when you did set kdm and kdm is not available, then you get lightdm as

mh, i have never set anything special for login for my tumbleweed it WAS also for me the normal loginscreen up to one of the zypper dup updates

some have experienced problems when sddm supersedes to kdm. But I am not sure of this. My loginscreen is as follows in TW when set to sddm normally (which is the default for me since I installed TW: https://susepaste.org/2005638 So this is how it should look like by default.
