I have an internal ide zip drive. It is properly recognized at boot as a Iomega zip drive at /dev/hdd, so I added it to my fstab, created a dir for it (/zip) and linked /dev/zip to /dev/hdd (ln -s /dev/hdd /dev/zip) . My fstab entry is : /dev/hdd /zip msdos rw,noauto, user 0 0 but when I try to mount it it says there is no valid msdos filesystem on /dev/hdd. Well, there is because all my zip cartridges are properly formatted and have been used under windows. I am using these to archive files so I am using msdos filesystem so they are readable by both os'es. Any ideas why /dev/zip or /dev/hdd won't mount? When I try to mount /dev/zip or /dev/hdd it does query the drive because the light on the drive comes on, but it always returns that the filesystem is invalid. I am stumped.
