Again I say, I do not want the best performing chip of a given clock speed, I want the best performing chip for the price.
Ben makes an excellent point. Unless you are into 3d gaming, this argument is meaningless. Linux doesn't demand the fastest cpu to run well. I've had great experiences with the AMD chip. The K6-2 300 3DNow chip runs 3d stuff great. I run the 233 version and have never had problems running anything and it is a touch faster than my other Intel 233.
