If you use the command line much is totally screws up bash-completion, drives vi crazy and will just annoy the heck out of you. IIRC, I had a dbus connection error or two on first run, but it has been rock solid ever since on kde3. I have used zypper a lot on 11.4 and I've never seen that error. (I have an x86_64 install). I haven't used 'zypper dup'. I elected a new instal since I was moving from 11.0 -> 11.4. However, zypper ref, up, in, se, ar, and rr have all worked. Good luck with the issue wolf.
