Back in the day, (OpenSUSE 10.3?) there was a useful keyboard shortcuts tool which had a comprehensive set of options that could be assigned a shortcut. Specifically, you could assign your virtual desktops to "CTRL-F1", "CTRL-F2", etc for quick switching. The OpenSUSE 11.1 implementation of this tool can be found in the Control Center but it has been "dumbed down" so significantly that it no longer has any they options I need.
