Yep, that is true. All the power suppliues are redundant, and someone simply unplugging both power cables, yeah, I guess it can't be discounted :-)
It was slightly unplanned, yes, but when I put in a new server room, I put a ring of sockets with mains power round the room. When we ran out of sockets, the other admin guy put in a large UPS that drove a matching ring. So all our servers (ProLiants) had one PSU plugged into the mains ring, and the other into the UPS ring :-) (I spec'd a double socket every 18 inches - shows how fast you use up sockets!)
