I currently use a Cubi N minicomputer with openSUSE as home server and media center on my computer room, running openSUSE. Complete with wireless mini keyboard - but I don't feel inclined to repeat the setup on the sitting room.
Thus, it can display streaming videos on it. I think I can see Amazon Prime videos, but I don't have a Netflix account to try.
Well, I tried Amazon PrimeVideo on my media center running openSUSE 42.2 With Firefox, it said that I had to update Firefox, and gave the worthless typical instructions for going to the about box and choosing update. So instead I tried Chrome. This one was accepted, and I tried a video: got sound, but no video, not even the controls to pause, advance, etc. So it does not work (se below). I try on my laptop again (last time was months ago). Firefox remembers my last session on PrimeVideo and the credentials seem to be active, but when I try to play the same video FF complains that it doesn't understand the protocol. I try Chrome instead - PrimeVideo is not in the history, so it appears that it was FireFox what I used here and it worked. I login in Chrome, and Chrome works (the version is a bit older than in my home media server, though - I'm in the process now of updating the laptop). So, there is some issue on my media center with Amazon PrimeVideo. Oh, wait, I try again and it works (Chrome), so go figure. I don't have a Netflix account, so I can't try it, unless there is some demo service :-? - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
