Personally, if the process is so easy, I would prefer that they drop in the source tree, make the changes and compile it. THEN, release it. Since the 2.2 kernel is already out, and the process is so easy, how much longer would it take? Three or four hours, tops? Why make everyone else do that step? Who knows how many newbies and near-newbies mess it up, then generate a lot of complaints about SuSE, which I find to be an excellent example of German engineering. Dee,
According to www.suse.de/e/lx60/lx60.htm, SuSE 6.0 will be 2.2.0-compatible. All you need to do is drop in the source tree, make the appropriate changes, compile, and go.
Later,
Alan.
