Update of 7.1 to 7.3

Hello, I have been attempting to update Suse 7.1 to Suse 7.3 with little success. I have tried a network update (ftp), but the network I am on does not respond to the bootp request sent by yast. I have also downloaded the 7.3 directory from a mirror of the Suse site (ftp.crc.ca) using wget. I can get yast to see the directory with the files in it, but it tells me that my system is up to date, relative to the downloaded files (from 'Update Entire System' in yast). Any suggestions?
