I've found out 'the hard way' that my old Advansys ABP940U PCI SCSI adaptor is not compatible with this installation (but might be under 2.6.17).
Can anyone tell me if the Adaptec 2904 adaptor will work with my existing system? (I've looked at the charts on the SuSE web site but they don't seem to be up-to-date)
If you meant Adaptec 2940, then the answer is yes.

No, I did mean the 2904 - it's about 1/6th the price of a 2940 and for one device on the SCSI bus which only has SCSI II, the 2940 would be overkill.

I've used a lot of 2906 cards which are PCI. What would be different on the 2904? (but it should work)
