Greetings...... First of all, I have a Epson Stylus Pro. In the beginning I thought that it was a WINGUI printer, but extensive search at the epson ftp site revealed that it is a full fledged printer (whew). Now, even though it is not directly supported through SuSE the Stylus Pro does support either the Epson LQ-2550 or the LQ-860 (both are color dot matrix printers using Epson ESCP2 language) I am sure that those printers are supported under SuSE. However, a cat /proc/devices shows me that I have no lp devices. What gives......I thought that the LPT ports are set up during installation process. Can anyone please help me on how to set up my system so that the LPT port works? The printer is the last hurdle for me in configuring my Linux system, and after I get that working, I am in Linux Heaven!! - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
