For those wondering... if you've installed VBox from the VBox website, then the vboxdrv is executed as part of the install (assuming you have gcc, make, kernel sources already available). If/when you update your kernel, you will need to rebuild the VBox kernel modules. As root: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup and it'll rebuild the bits it needs. You will notified/reminded of this when you try to launch VBox after a kernel upgrade (including the location of vboxdrv) and you have not rebuilt the kernel modules.
