hi all,
is it really true that m$ is using gpl'd code to implement ipv6 in their products ?? i'm a little confused, maybe i missed something.....
if this is true, i can only laugh about them.
first they state that open software is against intellectual property (and unamerican, too).
then mr. steve completely-dumb ballmer said that, if one is using such software, everything "around" and made with it must be free (of course, only from his point of view, reality is somewhat different....)
now they are implementing an activation scheme to protect *their* software.
if they really used the ipv6 in that way, the must be hit by some lawyers really soon and strong !!!!
THEY are acting "unamerican" and against intellectual propperty by doing so. (btw, what is "american" ?) THEY breaking law by not following the rules of the license under which
I think that what they are trying to do is to get open source programmers to do all the debugging for them and when M$ thinks the product is ready they'll make it proprietary and rip it away from the open source community, at least that's what I think they'll do, so if any open source programmers can see this message, do it for the sake of OSS and don't cooperate with M$, unless they pay you guys a lot!! =) well that's my opinion anyway!!
